Maritime Project Specialist Role

This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead a key national initiative reviewing the vocational education and training system as it relates to the maritime sector.

As a Project Specialist, you will be responsible for managing projects that aim to accelerate access to and grow workforce capability in the Maritime Industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing projects across scope, quality, finance, risk, and compliance parameters.
  • Developing high-quality project documentation for stakeholder engagement and government submission.
  • Designing and implementing high-quality engagement experiences for industry and government stakeholders.
  • Stewarding the development and facilitation of project working groups.
  • Leading research initiatives to collect data and evidence.
  • Developing high-quality resources to support project implementation.
  • Building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.

A successful candidate will have senior-level policy experience in a government and/or industry environment, a sound understanding of the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system and national policy context, strong project management and organisational skills, advanced verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Additionally, previous experience in or knowledge of the Maritime, Defence, or Transport and Logistics industries is highly desirable.
