Human Resources Manager Job Overview

The role of Human Resources Manager is pivotal to the hotel's strategic goals and business objectives. We are seeking a talented professional with strategic vision, operational expertise, people leadership, and strong business acumen.

This position oversees the HR function, managing all HR operations including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training and development. The ideal candidate will possess high level communication and relationship management skills, collaborating with various stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • Key responsibilities include leading the HR team, developing and implementing HR policies and procedures in alignment with business objectives, IHG ways of working and local employment regulations.
  • Additionally, this role involves overseeing talent acquisition and retention strategies to ensure a high-performing, diverse workforce.
  • The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to managers on employee performance, development, and conflict resolution.

A typical day includes:

  1. Leading the HR function, managing all HR operations.
  2. Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  3. Overseeing talent acquisition and retention strategies.
  4. Providing guidance and support to managers.

This role is crucial to the success of the hotel opening and general Hotel operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within hotel human resources in a senior role and prior involvement in a pre-opening.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Capacity to build and lead a high-performing and engaged team.
  • Strong business acumen, results-oriented and commitment to driving continual improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage workload across properties and key deliverables within a project opening timeline.

Extensive experience within hotel human resources in a senior role and prior involvement in a pre-opening is highly desirable. Tertiary education within a Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related field is also preferred.
