Townsville City Council, the largest local government authority in Northern Australia, is seeking an Asset Officer to play a key role in our Infrastructure and Operations division. This position will work collaboratively across Council to champion our purpose of Growing Townsville and deliver the Corporate Plan in consultation with the Townsville Community.

About the Role

">

This Asset Officer will be accountable to the General Manager Engineering and Asset Infrastructure Planning and focused on the needs and aspirations of the Townsville community. The ideal applicant will have minimum Trade qualifications in Engineering and eligibility for membership with the Asset Management Council, as well as basic asset management skills in water and waste asset types.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement asset maintenance and renewal strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to the community;">
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business outcomes and improve customer relationships;">
  • Conduct analysis in various information technology systems, including Microsoft Office suite and Business Management Systems, to inform decision-making;">
  • Perform asset maintenance and renewal improvement programs to maximize value;">
  • Provide expert advice on asset management principles and practices to stakeholders.">

About You

">

We are looking for an experienced Asset Officer with a strong understanding of asset management principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of working experience in a similar role, as well as a current Queensland 'C' class driver's license. Knowledge and understanding of Council policy, procedures, and practices, relevant legislations, codes, and guidelines relating to the Queensland Local Government Act and appropriate asset management standards are highly desirable.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
