**Job Opportunity: Metallurgist Role**

An exciting career opportunity has become available for a skilled professional to join our team in the Technical Services department.

This full-time position is based in Newcastle and will have you utilizing your previous QA, auditing, and metallurgical expertise to drive operational excellence within our production methods, accessing continuous improvement of these systems and auditing best practices.

This diverse role will require you to:

- Conduct quality assurance system and process audits to remain compliant with ISO standards
- Review customer specifications, develop and maintain technical standards for the department
- Oversee quality control process and systems to ensure customer products are delivered in accordance with the agreed specifications
- Coordinate, execute, and evaluate product and process development activities, to improve market offer and increase profitability
- Collect and collate process data, and analysis information for process improvements
- Calibration of measuring equipment in the department
- Create key relationships with Product Metallurgists, Technical Managers, and sales teams

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Relevant tertiary qualifications within Engineering, Metallurgy, Business Management, or similar experience as a QA Officer and/or Metallurgist
- An understanding of QA principles within heavy industry manufacturing, mining, materials processing plant, or similar
- Pragmatic and solution-focused, with proven influencing skills to bring about change and drive positive outcomes
- A willingness to take ownership and accountability of deliverables
- Conceptual, research, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build strong internal and stakeholder relationships
- A strong focus on safety and identifiable hazards
