Relationships Australia Queensland is seeking a skilled Domestic and Family Violence Specialist to join our team in Cairns.

">Key Responsibilities:">
  • ">
  • Assess suitability for programs and provide case management with a strong focus on client safety.">
  • Facilitate group programs, deliver crisis intervention, and provide individual counselling to men who use violence.">
  • Offer information and support relating to protection orders, court processes, and the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act.">
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate training and community education programs to raise awareness and support prevention strategies.">
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with police, solicitors, court staff, other counsellors, and community agencies to strengthen a coordinated community response to domestic and family violence.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • Undergraduate qualifications in social or behavioural sciences.">
  • Experience working with clients in a group facilitation model and in individual counselling.">
  • Demonstrated experience working with local networks and agencies using principles of community development.">
  • Knowledge of current theory and practice relating to domestic and family violence and a capacity to deliver community education programs.">
