Domestic and Family Violence Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Domestic and Family Violence Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a deep understanding of domestic and family violence, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with clients, community agencies, and other stakeholders to provide support and services to individuals and families affected by domestic and family violence. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to prevent domestic and family violence in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised plans for clients to promote their safety and wellbeing.
  • Provide counselling and support services to men who use violence.
  • Facilitate group programs and workshops to raise awareness about domestic and family violence and promote prevention strategies.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local networks and agencies to strengthen a coordinated community response to domestic and family violence.
  • Contribute to community education initiatives to raise awareness about domestic and family violence and promote prevention strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

As a compassionate and skilled practitioner, you will have a qualification in social or behavioural sciences, experience working with clients in a group facilitation model and individual counselling, and demonstrated experience working with local networks and agencies using principles of community development.
