Job Description

We are seeking a visionary leader to manage, mentor and guide our team of early childhood professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our centre, while developing a culture of inquiry and learning.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a purpose-built 60-place service for children aged 0-6 years in Roselands, Southwest Sydney. Our centre operates as a result of open communication and respectful interactions between staff, children, families and the local community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the centre's programs, systems and operational processes to ensure its successful running
  • Monitor and maintain reporting requirements, ensuring timely completion
  • Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with suppliers
  • Develop positive and open professional relationships with families, children and staff
  • Provide effective support, guidance and mentoring to staff members
  • Manage the centre's budget and expenditure within established guidelines
  • Ensure the centre operates within policies, procedures, licensing, legislation and regulations requirements
  • Organise rosters and staffing effectively
  • Guide staff in their professional development and individual goals and performance
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required by management
  • Market the centre to the local community
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with 2 years' experience as a Centre Director
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Exceptional knowledge and experience in leading a team of professional staff
  • Able to develop effective and positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of policies, procedures and regulations
