We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our team on a temporary part-time basis.

The role will involve working within a small team of building professionals to undertake building inspections in line with Council's policies and legislative frameworks.

  • Conduct thorough assessments of building applications to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
  • Issue approvals, consents or building permits as applicable under relevant State and Territory Laws.
  • Audit building work to verify compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Inspect health and safety aspects of existing buildings to verify ongoing compliance with approval or occupation requirements.
  • Take appropriate compliance and enforcement actions to ensure building work complies with regulatory requirements.
About the Role
  • This is a temporary part-time position available for up to 6 months, working 2-3 days per week (14-21 hours).
  • The successful candidate will be accredited with NSW Fair Trading at a registration level of Building Surveying – restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings).
  • A Class C Driver's Licence is also required.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
