Job Title: Correctional Industries Officer
**About the Role:**

The Correctional Industry Officer is a vital position within our organization, responsible for ensuring the security, safety, and control of prisoners in their care. This role involves assessing, training, and advising prisoners on production processes and relevant industry requirements. As a key member of our team, you will be expected to supervise and direct prisoner work groups, provide assistance to other Correctional Industry Officers and Correctional Officers, and ensure compliance with Departmental procedures.

In this multifaceted role, you will work in a dynamic team environment, set priorities under general direction, and be trained to be multifunctional in all aspects of the prison industries. Your ability to maintain a secure and safe working environment will be essential, as well as your capacity to work effectively with prisoners and colleagues alike.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • To assess and advise prisoners on production processes and relevant industry requirements
  • To train and supervise prisoner work groups
  • To provide assistance to other Correctional Industry Officers and Correctional Officers
  • To ensure compliance with Departmental procedures
  • To work in a dynamic team environment and set priorities under general direction

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

Essential:

  • Certificate III in Correctional Practice
  • Possession of a relevant Trade qualification or a relevant industry recognised qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Horticulture) or a minimum 3 years comparative relevant industry experience
  • Senior First Aid Certificate

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
