Overview

HM Prison officer opportunities at HMP Guys Marsh. This is a full-time role with a salary of £33,746 - £38,003. You will be required to work various shifts and weekends. You will work in a unique environment, directly with prisoners, to protect the public and make a positive impact on people's lives.

Responsibilities
  • Protect the public and help to make a positive impact on people's lives.
  • Build constructive, positive and professional relationships with offenders who could be at their lowest point in life.
  • Work as part of a team to keep the prison, offenders and staff safe.
  • Carry out a variety of roles in one day, including peacekeeping, counselling, or teaching as needed.
  • Contribute to the sense of achievement when helping offenders get their life back on track.
  • Provide support to colleagues and act as one team to maintain safety.
Qualifications and Required Qualities
  • Integrity, the right skills, and strength of character.
  • Empathy, self-confidence and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle diverse and challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Willingness to work various shifts and weekends.
