Radiologic Technologist Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist is a critical role in the healthcare industry, requiring a skilled professional to provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with medical providers and assistants.

This position involves applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, performing and analyzing patient x-rays, and reporting results to medical providers. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work accurately and efficiently, and maintain confidentiality when handling patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • X-Ray Services:
    • Perform x-ray services as needed under the direction of the clinical provider.
    • Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
    • Assist with patient handling as needed.
  • Patient Registration:
    • Conduct patient registration, secure required paperwork, and verify insurance and patient eligibility.
    • Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments.
    • Coordinate provider referrals and answer patient questions regarding care.
  • Patient Preparation and Rooming:
    • Inform technical staff of patient flow.
    • Prepare patients for examination by interviewing and verifying information.
    • Perform preliminary physical tests and conduct point-of-care testing as needed.
  • Stocking:
    • Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception areas.
    • Maintain supply inventory levels and check expiration dates on supplies.
  • Administrative:
    • Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
    • Answer phone calls, manage daily correspondence, and ensure reception is well maintained.
    • Perform opening and closing duties, cash handling, and end-of-day reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required.
  • Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at time of hire as applicable by state law.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
