
Vocational Program Developer

The Vocational Pathways Coordinator plays a pivotal role in developing and managing programs to enhance future workforce capability across Ipswich City Council's operations.
This position collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to create meaningful career pathways, fostering community engagement and development while promoting organisational goals and objectives.
- Develops and implements vocational employment programs aligned with the council's strategic plans and workforce needs
- Crafts and maintains program guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Collaborates with Group Training Organisations (GTOs) to devise recruitment strategies, run campaigns, support onboarding, and oversee trainee and apprentice management
- Coordinates training and development activities with managers and trainers, delivering learning initiatives and addressing performance or behavioural issues as needed
- Promotes vocational programs externally to attract participants and build community awareness
To excel in this role, you will have:
- Considerable experience in recruitment strategy development and implementation, particularly in workforce planning, attracting, selecting, and onboarding students or trainees in collaboration with GTOs
- Proven ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to ensure successful vocational program development and delivery
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to apprenticeships and traineeships
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to promote vocational programs internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training programs and workshops
This is a fixed-term position until July 2026, offering a salary commencing at $110,838 plus 12.5% superannuation.
