Our vision is to end homelessness in Melbourne, and we're looking for a Youth Mentor to join our team. As a Youth Mentor, you will be working with young people who are experiencing homelessness, providing them with support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.

The Education First Youth Foyer (EFYF) is an innovative program that provides affordable accommodation, education, training, and employment opportunities to young people who are at risk of homelessness. The EFYF works from an Advantaged Thinking approach, which focuses on identifying and developing the skills, capabilities, and assets of these young people so that they can establish sustainable lives.

As a Youth Mentor, you will spend time engaging in social and recreational activities with a designated mentee, sharing knowledge about your own education, career, and life experiences, and helping the mentee to set and achieve their goals. You will also provide feedback to the Relationship Officer and complete a template noting the outcomes of each session.

This role requires someone who has developed relationship skills, communication skills, and the ability to engage and communicate in a non-judgmental manner. You should have self-awareness with regard to personal strengths and weaknesses, as well as the ability to ask for help and support when needed.
