Clinical Education Specialist

We are seeking an experienced educator to provide clinical education and training to nurses within the Western NSW Local Health District.
The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of learning and assessment principles, gained from both experience and education. They will be responsible for providing day-to-day and one-on-one clinical education, as well as in-services to meet team and individual learning needs.
- Develop and implement educational programs to address identified learning needs.
- Conduct clinical competency assessments to evaluate nurse's knowledge and skills.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about promoting improved nursing care and supporting the development of our nursing staff.
About the RoleThe Clinical Educator will work closely with our nursing teams to identify learning gaps and develop targeted educational programs to address these needs. They will also participate in the development and review of procedures and guidelines to improve the provision of education advice and expertise.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have advanced clinical nursing skills and knowledge of technology appropriate to the clinical area.

RequirementsAn Advanced Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Nursing or related field, with extensive experience as a registered nurse. Cert IV in Training and Assessment is desirable, or willingness to work towards.
Advanced clinical nursing skills, knowledge and skill using technology appropriate to the clinical area, combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
