We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Officer to join our procurement team in Western Australia.

As a key member of the Minor Vessel Capability Lifecycle Manager (MV CLCM) program, you will be responsible for managing procurement through to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective supply of goods and services to support the Navy's Surface Fleet.

The successful candidate will possess a strong commercial acumen, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a procurement role, preferably within a Defence environment.

You will be comfortable working with technology and systems, maintaining data integrity of inventory management systems and logistics databases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing procurement through to delivery, ensuring delivery of supply to required schedule, scope and quality
  • Maintaining data integrity of inventory management systems and logistics databases in support of Program requirements
  • Working with the SPO Inventory Team to ensure efficient procurement and repair of inventory to maintain established stock levels
  • Supporting audit and quality assurance controls across the procurement function to ensure compliance to policy
  • Contributing to performance management against key performance indicators and performance reporting

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Practical commercial acumen, including sourcing, quotations, orders, supplier engagement and delivery management
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a procurement role, preferably within a Defence environment
  • Computer literacy, including the use of inventory management systems, such as SAP, Maximo, EAGLE or MILIS, Windows OS and Microsoft Office
