Accounts Receivable Officer Job Opportunity

R&J Batteries are a leading battery and lubricant distributor across Australia and New Zealand. We're a family-owned company.

We're seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join our finance team at our Ballarat Head Office.

The role offers a great opportunity to work in a finance team of 10, reporting to the Finance Manager.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Daily allocating/receipting of payments
  • Daily Bank statement reconciliations
  • Verify and post receipts plus resolve any discrepancies with customers and our branches
  • Set up new customers on the ERP system including obtaining trade references
  • Handle telephone account queries and provide high-level customer service
  • Process adjustments and rebates on customer accounts as required
  • Assist with other duties within the Finance team as required

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in AR and a good attitude and passion for accounts.

Preferred skills and qualifications include:

  • End-to-end Accounts Receivable experience is essential, along with experience in reconciliations and end-of-month activities
  • Comfortable and capable of working within a high-volume transactional environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently work in a team environment
  • Professional and courteous phone manner; strong customer service mindset
