Lead the Development of a National Learning Strategy

This is a unique opportunity to drive the development and execution of a national learning strategy that will shape Australia's sovereign submarine sustainment workforce.

You will report to the Head of Learning & Development, collaborating across government and industry to deliver technical training and capability development initiatives. Your key responsibility will be to develop and implement the SSN Sustainment Learning Strategy and 'Train in Australia Plan'.

  • Develop Learning Strategies: Create and implement comprehensive learning strategies for the SSN Sustainment workforce, aligning with organisational goals.
  • Design Training Programs: Design and deliver onboarding, technical, and compliance training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the workforce.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and delivery of training initiatives.
  • Lead Learning Teams: Provide leadership to the SSN Sustainment L&D team, guiding them towards achieving desired outcomes.
  • Manage Capabilities: Oversee the development of capabilities within the organisation, ensuring Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) outcomes.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary Qualifications: A degree in Learning, HR, Business or extensive L&D leadership experience.
  • Project Management Skills: Project management certification or experience, preferably in complex environments.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in leading teams in complex environments.
  • Strategic Alignment: Proven ability to align strategy with organisational goals and execute effectively.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and organisational abilities.
  • Self-Directed: Self-directed, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities with limited supervision.
