Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality specialist advice to senior management and technical advice and education to staff on workplace relations, performance, and conduct matters.
  • Identify, design, and develop innovative strategies to improve departmental outcomes when managing complex sensitive people matters, staff engagement, and workplace consultation.
  • Represent the department in dealings with unions, tribunals, external jurisdictions, and other stakeholders to avoid disputes or achieve positive outcomes and resolutions.
  • Assist and support the research, development, management, and implementation of HR Policies and employment contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, processes, and better practice.
  • Lead, motivate, and gain the commitment of others in achieving a positive performance and conduct focus responsive to contemporary issues and changes in workplace practices.
  • Develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships, liaise and effectively negotiate with key stakeholders including senior management, staff, industrial organisations, and external agencies.
  • Prepare written material including executive briefs, corporate documentation, findings of fact, and formal communications relating to employee conduct and performance for review by senior staff in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in human resource management or law.
  • Proven experience in workplace relations, performance, or conduct.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
