Job Title: Sustainability Team Leader

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual to lead daily operations at our waste management centre. As a key leader, you will oversee sales, drive waste diversion efforts, manage a dynamic team, and deliver excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will have experience leading and working effectively in a team and independently. They will be passionate about sustainability, great with people, and a natural leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all sales activities and sales-related tasks
  • Lead, engage, mentor, and develop the team
  • Plan and coordinate work activities including plant, materials, and contractors
  • Operate internal reporting systems and generate reports to management on request
  • Effectively manage the collection, presentation, and sale of re-saleable materials ensuring maximum recyclable diversion
  • Promote and plan opportunities to increase diversion and sales revenue
  • Communicate with other team members to maximise diversion and sales
  • Develop a yearly communications plan to support reuse shop activities
  • Maintain the reuse shop to a high level of housekeeping and establish a pricing mechanism that encourages uptake of goods
  • Utilise and maintain all items of plant, equipment, tools, and PPE to standards
  • Develop procedures relevant to the role to provide guidance around the management of the reuse shop facility
  • Complete documentation relevant to the role (e.g., standard forms, payroll, cash and EFTPOS reconciliations, banking processes, site safety documentation including incident reports)
  • Perform fire and emergency operations; and site safety and security
  • Undertake administrative duties including purchasing requisitions, preparation of reports, timesheet authorisation, etc.
