About us: we are a workers compensation and personal injury claims management business. Our goal is to provide ongoing support during the return-to-work journey of our clients.
The OpportunityWe are seeking a leader who can make a positive impact on someone's life every day. This person will be part of a diverse team based in Sydney or Newcastle, working closely with each business unit's claims and underwriting teams to provide superior service to employers and intermediaries.
The primary role involves leading a team of professionals who manage client portfolios and aligned intermediary relationships. This requires providing high-level customer service to ensure portfolio retention, while also leading performance improvement initiatives and facilitating profitable business growth.
The successful candidate will lead and manage the day-to-day work activity, training, and development of their team members, building a strong team focused on customer experience and continuous improvement.
Your Responsibilities- Drive our company values through people leadership and engagement, including coaching, guidance, direction, communication, development, and managing resourcing within operational units.
- Lead a bespoke learning and development calendar for client services to build team capability.
- Develop team members to provide the highest possible level of service to employers and intermediaries to achieve the best outcomes.
- Support operational teams to develop action plans and interventions that support us as the number one performer in personal injury.
- Provide advice on high-complexity and high-risk account management.
- Recommend and advise senior leaders on strategically sensitive employer matters, market movements, and other relevant topics.
- Monitor, evaluate, and review team workloads and overall team resources to ensure distribution aligns with skill base and business model.
- Identify poor performers and undertake counselling and disciplinary procedures according to employment legislation, policies, and procedures.
We are looking for candidates with:
- More than 5+ years' experience in relevant workers' compensation and/or personal injury environments.
- More than 3+ years' experience in business development, relationship management, or account management.
- A sound understanding of NSW, Victoria & SA Workers compensation law and associated regulations.
- Working knowledge and experience in premium rating and underwriting as it applies to relevant jurisdictions.
- Highly competent in Microsoft Office suite products, including intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and technical knowledge of client performance, including independent analytics and presenting complex information to stakeholders.
