Job Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a talented and respected engineering team. As a Principal Maritime Structural Engineer, you will be involved in the design and planning activities for large-scale multi-discipline maritime facilities across various industries.

You will apply your existing experience across these different industries and lead the technical delivery of new and interesting projects. You will be supported by and get to work with a range of other disciplines across the industry.

The role will see you leveraging your existing maritime structural experience, to deliver everything from concept designs through to construction phase support. While this is primarily a technical role, you will be given opportunities for leadership (project management and design management), and business development (proposal preparation and client positioning).

Our team works on large-scale clean energy projects, boating infrastructure, wharf and port infrastructure, and remediation of valuable public assets.

To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in structural design, including reinforced concrete and steel in the marine environment. You will also have experience working with local governments, port clients, and/or the Defence sector.

In addition, you will have experience with maritime Australian and international design codes and guidelines. You will actively drive innovation within the team and provide supervision, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leverage your existing maritime structural experience to deliver technical projects from concept to completion.
  • Lead the technical delivery of new and interesting projects, applying your expertise in structural design and project management.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems, driving improvement and growth within the team.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (or ability to get chartership within agreed timeframe)
  • Tertiary degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Eligibility for Australian Government security clearance
