Job Summary

The Business Analyst will support the delivery of projects and lead the coordination of software and system changes in the Commercial Airline Technology team. The BA will apply their skills to elicit and document requirements, analyze and design solutions, coordinate with technical delivery/development teams and vendors, validate and test changes, manage software and organizational changes through to completion, and plan and execute implementation/cutover activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Systems Implementation and Delivery
    • Manage and coordinate delivery of software changes and releases.
    • Prepare delivery and implementation plans for projects and initiatives.
    • Coordinate business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors as per the delivery plan.
  • Requirements Analysis
    • Elicit business and system requirements and liaise with vendors and technical delivery teams.
    • Act as the conduit between business and technical teams to ensure the right solution is delivered.
    • Ensure detailed business and functional requirements are clearly and accurately documented.
  • Solutions Design
    • Review requirements and provide recommendations regarding software solutions.
    • Work with product owners, architecture team, and vendors to design and document solutions that meet business requirements.
    • Ensure solution is in accordance with Jetstar IT standards.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing
    • Define testing scope and work with users and testing teams to complete testing (e.g. UAT).
    • Support Testing and Quality Assurance through documentation of testable requirements and execution of testing.
    • Ensure configuration and changes of applications implemented match their intended design and comply with IT architectural standards.
  • Change Management
    • Evaluate planned system and software changes to minimize risk and operational issues.
    • Develop, review, and document change management inputs, including business impact assessments, training, and communication needs, and risk assessments.
    • Ensure changes are documented and aligned with Jetstar and IT Change Management processes.
  • Process & Documentation
    • Document existing and new processes as required.
    • Promote standard operating procedures and follow delivery framework to ensure consistent delivery experience.
    • Update and maintain the team's knowledge base and delivery templates.
  • Systems Support & Operations
    • Provide additional support to the systems support team (BAU) when needed.
    • Analyze system issues and coordinate resources and suppliers to resolve them within agreed SLAs.
    • Serve as an escalation point if required due to resource constraints from the Systems Support team.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in business or Information Technology.
  • Microsoft Office application proficient.
  • PMP or Prince2 certification and/or Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Business Analyst (preferably in the Technology field).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Delivery or Implementation role (preferably in the Technology field).
  • Experience working on and delivering successful outcomes in large-scale IT project initiatives.
  • Experience working in the aviation and travel industry (preferred).
  • Experience with working within a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using a flexible approach and demonstrating tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex thoughts and ideas clearly to a variety of audiences.
  • Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand commercial, operational, and customer experience impact.
  • Knowledge of aviation & travel technologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Effectively manage stakeholders across different levels in the organization.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to manage conflict.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage to change priorities.
