Job Title

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing/Shelter Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and services to individuals in need, promoting a safe and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development and delivery of resident support plans, collaborating with the support team and site supervisor as needed.
  • Build rapport and trust with residents through professional relationships.
  • Conduct wellness checks and perform room inspections to ensure a clean and safe living environment.
  • Distribute essential supplies, such as harm reduction materials and personal hygiene items, to residents.
  • Assist residents with daily tasks, including cleaning and laundry, to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Develop and implement short-term intervention plans to address specific issues or challenges faced by residents.
  • Collaborate with the support team to engage residents in activities and programs that promote socialization and skill-building.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Minimum one year of experience working in a human service setting, preferably in a housing or shelter environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Physical stamina to navigate stairs and lift up to 30 pounds, with ability to kneel down to attend to medical emergencies.
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly rate: $31.56 - $33.49 per hour.
  • Full-time position with three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week).
