Position Overview
MSS Security is seeking an Aviation Protection Officer primarily responsible for maintaining a visible security presence while remaining vigilant and attentive. This role involves providing passenger and baggage screening services at the airport. You will collaborate with a dedicated, customer-oriented team that fosters strong relationships with internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting initial screening of passengers at departure;
- Inspecting items being loaded onto aircraft;
- Verifying ASIC cards and justifications for entry;
- Searching aircraft, including seats, overhead compartments, life jackets, and galleys;
- Checking boarding passes and passports of all passengers at the gate;
- Performing secondary screening of identified passengers at the gate;
- Assisting guests and visitors in areas surrounding the airport.
Qualifications Required
- Certificate II in Security Operations;
- Current Security Licence;
- Possession of or willingness to obtain an ASIC clearance;
- Covid Vaccination Records;
- Full working rights in Australia;
- Ability to successfully pass a Drug & Alcohol screening;
- Flexibility in working hours;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
