**Job Opportunity:** Laboratory Manager

This is a permanent role with NSW Health Pathology where you will oversee laboratory operations and contribute to delivering safer, healthier communities.

The laboratory is located in the Blue Mountains, surrounded by bushland and offering easy access to Sydney.

About the Role:

  • Manage the laboratory to provide efficient and effective services across operational management, compliance management, financial planning, department performance monitoring, corporate risk management, human resources management, and strategic planning.
  • Proven leadership and operational management skills and experience including budget management, staff and resource management, and maintaining professional standards and accreditation within organisational frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience with implementing quality improvement and risk management, including an understanding of relevant healthcare legislation and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and using financial, statistical, human resources, and management data to proactively improve laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and professional networks in pathology, and an understanding of the role and function of public laboratories within the Australian and NSW health systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills with high interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
