About the Role

The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist is responsible for providing specialized WHS advisory, systems management, and reporting services to the organization on a broad range of routine and complex WHS issues to ensure the effective implementation of the organization's WHS system.

This role will see you responsible for providing expert advice, support, and guidance to ensure the organization can meet its accountabilities and all of its statutory obligations for safety by driving a positive safety culture, working closely with leaders and workforce to coach and mentor for safe behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide WHS advisory services to the organization on a broad range of routine and complex WHS issues
  • Develop and implement WHS systems and processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to mitigate potential hazards
  • Provide training and coaching to employees on WHS policies and procedures
  • Monitor and report on WHS performance and identify areas for improvement

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in WHS advisory and systems management
  • Strong knowledge of WHS laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
