We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to drive sustainable business performance, safety leadership, and long-term growth across our quarry operations.
This role supports our people, assets, and customers while ensuring we continue to build something great.
The successful candidate will lead a Zero Harm culture across the region, inclusive of multiple quarries, ensuring all safety, environmental, and legislative requirements are met.
This is a chance to make a real impact by leading improvement projects, influencing strategy, and shaping the future of our quarrying operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting senior management with operational, financial, and performance outcomes
- Developing and delivering quarry development plans for long-term sustainability
- Leading and managing key improvement projects to drive consistency and operational excellence
- Overseeing quarrying assets and capital investment planning in collaboration with asset managers
- Providing support and expertise to Quarry Managers and Supervisors to optimize performance
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, community groups, government, and industry associations
- Promoting a culture of Zero Harm, continuous improvement, OEE, and Operational Excellence practices
- Driving business development strategies to improve product quality, reduce costs, and exceed customer service expectations
- Leading people processes including succession planning, mentoring, and performance reviews
- Ensuring environmental compliance and safety remain front of mind across all operations
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, management, engineering, or a related discipline
- A minimum of five years' experience in Quarry Management and/or Operations
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and influence
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
- Demonstrates commercial and business acumen to support market growth
- Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and achieving results
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
- Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively to multiple quarry sites
