We are seeking a talented Naval Architect to join our team as a Asset Lifecycle Engineer. As a key member of our high-performing team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of Asset Management analyses and activities.


In this role, you will apply your engineering expertise to deliver technical solutions, serving as the focal point for designated systems. You will analyze Asset Performance, making recommendations for optimization, and contributing to long-term system efficiency.


As a Naval Architect and Asset Lifecycle Specialist, your expertise will be instrumental in striking a balance between technical management and operational capabilities. You will navigate cost drivers and contractual constraints outlined in the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA).


Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Conducting System Reviews for enhancements of designated systems, covering operational data assessment, trends & failure analysis, and maintenance efficiency assessment
  • Technical risk assessments
  • Recommendations/action plans for improvement by challenging the current design or/and the maintenance/support systems
  • Conducting single-domain technical investigations and analysis (e.g. Root Cause Analysis) for problem assessment/resolution
  • Conducting Initial assessment and oversight of Engineering Change activities for designated systems
  • Contributing to process improvement within the engineering lifecycle to deliver continuous improvements
  • Acting as Technical Authority in the appropriate Class/Speciality when authorized
  • Contributing to accurate and appropriate technical documentation records
  • Providing satisfactory engineering advice to the wider Babcock as necessary
  • Seeking and sharing good practice and knowledge locally

About You


We are looking for a Naval Architect who possesses an accredited bachelor's degree in either Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering recognized under the Washington Accord. You should qualify for Professional Engineer category Membership through a recognized body and be working towards achieving chartered status.


Your expertise should extend to a deep understanding of Asset Management principles and their practical application, coupled with a thorough grasp of Integrated Logistics Support methodologies.
