**The Role**
In this position, as a Strategic Planning and Assurance Manager in the ANZAC Systems Program Office (ANZAC SPO), using your experience of Naval ship repair/maintenance activities you will develop, monitor and deliver governance and assurance programs for External Maintenance Availabilities (EMAs) conducted on ANZAC Class warships. In this position, you will lead a team to deliver technical assurance and governance primarily in the planning phase of complex EMAs to ensure confidence in the maintenance baseline of the platforms.

You will be required to engage with contracted project staff, Ship Staff and key Naval stakeholders to identify stakeholder project risks, prioritise maintenance tasks and assist to deliver a maintenance package that will deliver Seaworthy Outcomes. You will be required to draft briefs to raise significant issues and provide briefs to inform ANZAC SPO Senior Management. You will bring a strong suite of analytical skills to the role and possess effective and clear communication skills to operate across a number or industry partners.

Whilst operating in a technical and regulated environment you will be responsible to demonstrate strong negotiation and leadership skills, perform and achieve complex governance activities to ensure the Material Seaworthiness of the ANZAC platform whilst ensuring alignment to the organisations strategic outcomes and direction.

You will be required to identify issues and bring necessary stakeholders together to determine an effective remediation plan. With Ship repair activities occurring across multiple sites in Australia, you will have the opportunity to travel interstate to engage with interstate colleagues and contribute to the wider capability focus of the branch.

**About our Team**
The Materiel Asset Assurance Section is a group of highly motivated and professional individuals that provide verification and validation of contract deliverables in support of the Defence Seaworthiness outcomes for Naval ship repair activities across Platform, Combat, Logistics and EMA Projects. We value team focused people with ideas and the ability to present them persuasively; as well as the drive and skills to see them implemented.

Although the team operates across Australia, you will be working primarily in the ANZAC SPO located in Rockingham in Western Australia. The main function of the Materiel Asset Assurance Section team is maintaining Safe and Seaworthy ANZAC Class Ships through governance, compliance and verification of ship repair tasking.

This includes, but is not limited to:

- Investigate, report and perform technical assessments.
- Provide technical, professional and policy advice.
- Work independently to achieve outcomes.
- Contribute to planning, program and project management process development.
- Track and report progress of complex Maintenance projects.
- Anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations.
