Job Description:

Protect cutting-edge technologies by joining our Electronics, Physics & I.T. (EPIT) team in Melbourne. As a registered patent attorney, you will work with a wide range of clients to develop IP protection strategies tailored to their commercial objectives.

Under the guidance of experienced Principals, you will have the opportunity to develop and execute IP strategies, manage intellectual property portfolios, and prepare high-quality written and verbal IP advice.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years post-registration experience as a Patent Attorney
  • Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in electrical or electronics engineering, computer systems engineering, mechatronics engineering, information and communications technology (ICT), physics, quantum computing, software engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience managing IP portfolios and developing IP strategies for Australian and international applicants
  • Client-focused approach and ability to build strong professional relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional technical knowledge
  • Eye for detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills and database researching skills
  • Highly organised and responsible with experience prioritising and working to deadlines
