Health, Safety, and Environment Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional to join our project in Western Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting and integrating health and safety requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the execution of the safety component of an Environmental, Social, and Health (ESH) program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
  • Develop and implement Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training programs.
  • Provide input to engineering, construction, procurement, subcontracts, commissioning, and other groups to ensure that safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
  • Interpret safety and health requirements and provide guidance on risk assessment and ESH program execution.
  • Research issues and regulatory requirements and prepare documentation and reports.
  • Support and guide ESH permits, risk assessments, and other safety and health reviews.
  • Participate in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
  • Interface and communicate with stakeholders and help resolve their ESH concerns.
  • Participate in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct ESH inspections and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and organizational requirements.

The successful candidate will have a degree or graduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related science/engineering area, and 2-5 years of relevant experience, or 6-9 years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis is also required.
