
Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

The role of this position involves assisting in the interpretation and integration of health and safety requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the execution of the safety component of a program that includes technical and administrative aspects.
- Develop and implement safety management plans, associated plans and procedures, and training programs.
- Provide input to groups to ensure safety requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
- Interpret safety requirements and provide guidance on risk assessment and program execution.
- Research issues and regulatory requirements and prepare documentation and reports.
- Support reviews, assessments, and other safety reviews.
- Participate in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
- Interface with stakeholders and help resolve their concerns.
- Conduct inspections and monitoring to identify hazards, evaluate controls, and assess compliance.
- Degree or graduate diploma in occupational health and safety or related field with 2-5 years of experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
- General Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
- Proficiency in assisting construction with risk assessments and job hazard analysis.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft software applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work respectfully in a team environment.
- Previous HSE experience in construction is preferred.
This position involves responsibilities that include exposure to changing conditions, including walking, climbing ladders, working at heights, using personal fall arrest equipment, walking on uneven surfaces, working in constricted spaces, variable shifts, and inclement weather. Some lifting may be required.
