Director of Logistics Operations

The Transport Operations Director oversees the planning, execution and improvement of our transport systems to ensure safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of materials to meet customer expectations.
- Develop and implement effective transport strategies in conjunction with Trading and Operational teams
- Lead the Transport Team and manage carrier and fleet performance
- Implement transport systems and processes to ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance
- Proactively identify and implement transport initiatives to enhance timely, reliable and cost-effective transport of products
- Drive improvements in waste management throughout the VIC business
- 5+ years of logistics management experience, preferably in a transport operations environment
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams in complex, fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of allocating vehicle types, capacity, specifications, load configuration and load restraint
- Advanced stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
- Proficiency in SAP, Weighbridge and Waste Edge system is highly valued
- Proven capability in problem-solving, process improvement and team leadership
