Job Title: Infrastructure Expert
As a Technical Assessor, you will be responsible for providing specialist technical expertise and knowledge to assist with complex analysis, mainly related to disaster and resilience funding arrangements in line with State and Commonwealth requirements.
The team is experienced, established, and skilled. As a Technical Assessor, you will work flexibly to support divisional requirements and proactively contribute to ongoing business improvement.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the development and delivery of best practice funding management, meeting program control measures, stakeholder needs, and the Authority's requirements.
- Providing technical and policy advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuously improving using best practice business processes and tools.
- Identifying issues, solutions, and management strategies to mitigate technical and delivery risk.
- Performing complex in-house and infield assessments, providing technical advice where required, to build external stakeholder capability and ensure effective delivery of specified programs of work.
- Reviewing applicant benchmarks and contingencies on an 'as-required' basis.
- Conducting training, presentations, and acting on behalf of the team/Authority.
- Undertaking related projects and other duties as required in line with complexity of work.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, quantity surveying, or other relevant discipline/s (preferably a degree with Honours).
- Professional level of expertise in infrastructure assessments(s) (water, bridges, local and state highway roads, etc.).
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (stakeholder management in indigenous communities highly sought after).
- Experience relating to project and/or program management for civil infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge in contract management and/or contract administration for infrastructure projects.
- Experience of cost interpretation within a civil project environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and commitment to continuous improvement aligned to the operational needs of the team.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills including report writing and delivering presentations.
Prior experience of NDRRA, DRFA, or any other government-funded programs would be highly regarded.
