Director of Planning and Community Development

We are seeking an experienced leader to drive strategic growth, foster community collaboration, and oversee diverse services across a region. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact through innovative planning, economic development, and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for regional growth, focusing on economic development, community resilience, waste management, and environmental health.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders, Councillors, and stakeholders to shape the region's future.
  • Oversee a broad portfolio, including land use planning, economic development, community and cultural development, environmental management, and regulatory functions.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Business, Planning, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in senior leadership roles within local government or a similar setting.
  • Proven ability to deliver strategic outcomes through effective resource management, financial oversight, and people leadership.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, business acumen, and communication skills, with a passion for sustainable community development and a solutions-oriented approach to complex challenges.
