Job Summary:

The Assistant Head of Department role is a leadership position that involves supporting the Head of Department in leading the curriculum area. The successful candidate will have a strong background in education and experience in teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Head of Department in leading the curriculum area
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement educational programs
  • Mentoring teachers to improve their instructional skills
  • Coordinating events and activities to promote student engagement and motivation
  • Providing feedback and coaching to teachers to enhance student learning outcomes

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Masters of Teaching / Bachelor of Education / PGCE)
  • Current VIT registration (or eligibility to gain)
  • Working Rights for Australia (or eligibility to gain)
