About the Role

Southern Cross Support Services is a leading provider of child safety services in Queensland, dedicated to ensuring the well-being and safety of children and young people. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Care Team Leader to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Leadership and Guidance: Lead a team of care professionals in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Develop and Implement Care Plans: Work with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each child or young person.
  • Ensure a Safe and Supportive Environment: Create a safe and supportive environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of children and young people.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with other professionals, including case managers, therapists, and educators, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
  • Manage and Coordinate Care Services: Oversee the delivery of care services, including meal preparation, household management, and recreational activities.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Care Outcomes: Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to care team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that all care services are delivered in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of a Certificate 4 qualification in a relevant area, such as child, youth, and family intervention, disability, mental health, or community services. Experience in a similar senior position is desirable.
  • Skills and Abilities: Highly developed emotional self-regulation skills, including the ability to set and maintain consistent boundaries in a professional setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Office, email, and web-based applications.
  • Certifications and Clearances: A Blue Card for Working with Children, NDIS Worker Screening, Child Safety and Criminal History Screening – LCS2, and a driver's license.
