About the Role

The Claims and Recovery Support Division is focused on supporting the recovery and return to work of injured workers. As a Recovery and Support Payments Processor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that workers being supported by WorkSafe are supported towards the best prospects of health and functional recovery through the timely payment of entitlements to compensation and medical expense payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process appropriate and timely payments in relation to active claims, including medical and other provider invoices, injured worker reimbursements, weekly compensation, index certificates, and documents.
  • Proactively identify the need for additional information to process entitlements and seek the appropriate source to obtain necessary information.
  • Provide the team with the current status of claims on matters including payments, approvals, and schedules.
  • Identify and escalate complex issues relating to legislation and policy to relevant team members.
  • Accountable for creating and capturing accurate and complete records of business activities related to this position, in accordance with approved policy and procedures.
About You

You are an experienced insurance specialist with a background in claims processing, auditing, accounting, contracts, or information technology. Your communication and organisational skills are high-level, and you hold a team-player attitude. Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience specifically managing workers' compensation claims in Victoria.
  • Understanding of the Victorian workers' compensation scheme, legislation, and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work with different IT applications.
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of insurance and medical terminology is desired.
  • Ability to use WorkSafe's Tempus, Novus, and ACCtion systems is desired.
