Primary School Program Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic presenter to join our team as a primary school program instructor. As an instructor, you will deliver engaging and interactive programs to students in Melbourne.

Our programs cover a range of topics including democracy, science, economics and more. Don't worry if you don't know the content of our programs - full training will be provided.

Students love our hands-on and activity-filled programs, and your visit to their school will be the highlight of their week. You will provide all the resources and equipment for up to three 90-minute sessions per day.

A typical week could include conducting a mock election with grade 6s, building Lego cars with grade 3s or operating a marketplace to demonstrate supply and demand for grade 5s.

You'll teach students of all primary school year levels from various backgrounds and areas across Melbourne. Your schedule will be well organised in advance, and some days you may even have an early finish.

No reports, staff meetings or yard duty - just teaching fun programs to students.

This role is casual, with breaks over all school holidays. We expect enough work for three days a week initially.

Travel throughout the Melbourne metropolitan area will be required. Please consider this when applying.

  • Primary school classroom teaching experience (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to present to groups of up to 35 children
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • An enthusiastic and friendly presentation style
  • Current teacher registration or Working With Children Check
  • Ability to store program equipment at home
  • Ability to travel to various locations across Melbourne
  • Own transport required for this role (some travel compensation included in remuneration package)
