
Emergency Response Specialist

This role is a key part of the emergency services team, working to ensure the safety of people and property across the region.
As an auxiliary firefighter, you will respond to fire and emergency incidents, promote community safety and emergency preparedness, and contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Responding to fire and other emergency incidents in a timely and effective manner
- Promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities and initiatives
- Developing and maintaining competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses
- Maintaining required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
The organization expects all auxiliary firefighters to commit to attending 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours, or 30% of calls as a shift worker or have non-routine hours. You must also obtain a motor vehicle licence within 12 months of employment and participate in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs.
