Role Overview:
This role plays a critical part in the emergency response process, working across multiple fire communications centres as a Fire Communications Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating responses to emergencies, ensuring effective communication between emergency services and the community.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage and coordinate responses to emergencies, working collaboratively with other teams and agencies;
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including emergency service providers and community groups;
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to emergency response and communication;
- Provide training and support to team members on emergency response and communication protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g. communications, public administration);
- Proven experience in emergency management and coordination;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Able to work effectively in a team environment;
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
