Our organisation is seeking a professional to fill the role of Grid Connection Specialist. This permanent position will be based in Sydney, working on power transmission and distribution projects.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in conducting power system analysis and modelling using relevant software tools. International visa sponsorship may be considered for eligible candidates.

Key responsibilities:
1. Conduct steady-state power system analyses including load flow, contingency analysis, and voltage stability studies.
2. Develop and maintain accurate power system models using software such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, or PSSE.
3. Perform system optimisation studies to enhance network efficiency and reliability.
4. Conduct transient stability studies to assess the dynamic behaviour of the power system under various operating conditions and disturbances.
5. Analyse and mitigate transient stability issues through appropriate control strategies and equipment specifications.
6. Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
7. Prepare comprehensive reports detailing study findings, recommendations, and conclusions.
8. Present technical information to stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and internal teams.
Required qualifications and skills:
Experience in power systems engineering with a focus on transmission and distribution.
Proficiency in power system simulation software such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, or PSSE.
Strong understanding of steady-state and transient analysis techniques for power systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Masters degree or higher would be advantageous).
