Human Resources Manager Role

This is a vibrant and dynamic role that requires an individual to oversee the HR function for a hotel opening in Melbourne's Innovation District.

The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, operational expertise, people leadership skills, and high-level communication abilities. They will also possess the capacity to build and lead a high-performing team, and commitment to developing and coaching colleagues.

The successful Human Resources Manager will be responsible for managing all HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training and development. They will also develop and implement HR policies and procedures, as well as oversee talent acquisition and retention strategies.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading the HR function, ensuring effective management of all HR operations.
  • Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, aligned with business objectives.
  • Overseeing talent acquisition and retention strategies, ensuring a high-performing and diverse workforce.
  • Providing guidance and support to managers on employee performance, development, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, and maintaining up-to-date employee records.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will also need to promote a culture of employee engagement and development through effective communication and team-building initiatives. They will also need to collaborate with senior management to support the hotel's strategic goals and business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within hotel human resources in a senior role, and ideally prior involvement in a pre-opening. They will also possess proficiency in HR and Payroll software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

Tertiary education within a Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related field is preferred, but not essential. What is essential is that you have full Australian Working Rights.
