Data Center Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Operations Specialist to oversee and maintain the integrity, security, and efficiency of our data center infrastructure. This includes servers, network systems (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Switches), and related hardware and software components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of the data center infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Monitor system performance and implement proactive maintenance strategies to prevent issues and resolve them quickly.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to plan and execute data center expansion, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation, policies, and procedures related to data center operations and IT infrastructure.
  • Provide exceptional end-user support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with system configuration and setup as needed.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies and incidents as required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on data center operations in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix), and operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, Mac).
  • Expertise in network infrastructure design, configuration, and troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
  • Familiarity with data center technologies such as SAN/NAS storage, blade servers, data replication, Cohesity and Veeam.
  • Familiarity with security protocols and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Security+) are highly desirable.
