About DVConnect is a leading provider of evidence-based and trauma-informed services for people impacted by all forms of personal violent crime. Our purpose is to create pathways for a life free from violence and fear.
The START Project will implement a cutting-edge approach to work with Queensland men who use violence in relationships. This program will undergo consistent and rigorous evaluation, combining experience in working with men, women, and children impacted by domestic and family violence.
We aim to address the gaps in the sector and enable men to voluntarily connect with appropriate social and service supports to facilitate conversations about their use of domestic and family violence and set clear goals to stop DFV behavior.
Key Principles:
- Self-reflection
- Transformation
- Accountability
- Respect
- Togetherness
This role requires a flexible approach as you may need to provide additional support to the broader team through service delivery and quality and training activities.
You will be virtually working with individual men who use DFV, providing non-judgmental counselling and guiding them to understand their use of violence through highly effective engagement and assessment strategies. You will also seek consent from your client to connect with their social and service supports for building a solid accountability network.
