Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Advocate Job Description:
Job RoleA Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Specialist Advocate is required to provide immediate support to women and others affected by domestic and family violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis response, risk assessments, safety planning, and intake for DFV referrals.
- Deliver culturally sensitive, trauma-informed support and advocacy.
- Facilitate referrals to legal, housing, health, and community services.
- Represent the organization at court, providing information, safe space management, and advocacy.
- Work collaboratively within an integrated, multi-agency DFV response.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning.
- In-depth knowledge of DFV theory, practice, and relevant legislation.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with government and community services.
- Strong cultural competence and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
