Vessel Survey Specialist

DNV Maritime Region Southeast Asia, Pacific & India is seeking a highly skilled Vessel Survey Specialist to join our Hobart office on a full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing class services to shipyards and certifying materials and components.
About the Role:
- Survey vessels during the new construction stage to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Certify materials and components manufactured by local industries, guaranteeing their safety and quality.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships with local clients, providing exceptional service and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide technical assistance as needed, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Evaluate and ensure that work performed aligns with DNV's rules, regulations, instructions, guidelines, and quality requirements.
- Upkeep confidentiality of clients' business processes, designs, developments, and documentation.
- Communicate any critical information about DNV's reputation and integrity to line management promptly.
- Supervise the work of others when necessary, promoting efficient and economical outcomes.
- Promote a customer-centric focus by serving as a technical resource for customer inquiries and fostering positive onboard or on-site experiences.

To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Experience as a project manager on complex vessels, showcasing your leadership skills.
- A strong customer service orientation and ability to build lasting relationships.
- Technical competencies in class surveyor work, statutory surveys, and associated responsibilities.
- Behavioral competencies as a team player with independence to work effectively on surveys.
- The ability to travel flexibly and maintain physical abilities necessary for regular job functions.
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
