About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to join our team at Woolworths Limited. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing end-to-end strategies, insights, engagement, and tools to support Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with buying and category development teams to develop and implement strategies to optimize COGS.
  • Manage a team of analysts to utilize category management principles, knowledge of commodity and external factors impacting cost to support category teams in cost and pricing negotiations.
  • Work with key stakeholders to scope, develop, and implement end-to-end process and tools improvements to unlock value to stakeholders.
  • Own and develop subject matter expertise on cost management and optimization.
  • Take carriage for the management and governance of the cost adjustment framework, which is imperative to Grocery code compliance.
  • Lead a team of analysts, with a strong focus on coaching and development.
  • Lead the development and implementation of tools, technology insights, and engagement models to support smart decision-making.
  • Support a wide group of stakeholders across the Buying team and work alongside peer groups for shared business outcomes.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a commercial, category management, pricing, or data analytics role in a fast-paced retail or FMCG environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience managing a team, with a strong focus on coaching and development.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to understand the business environment and be a thought partner to the Pricing and Customer Value leadership team in support of direction and priority setting.
  • Ability to build relationships, influence, and empower stakeholders at all levels across the business.
  • High proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets and MS Powerpoint / Google Slides, and ability to understand core data analytics principles and terminology.
