Job Description

Our organization is seeking skilled professionals to help implement and master Microsoft Purview for data governance and compliance. As a key member of our team, you will bridge the gap between business needs and powerful technical solutions.

You will lead requirements gathering workshops to understand business needs and compliance regulations, design and define a Purview solution, develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy, provide training and support to end-users and data stewards, create and maintain essential documentation, design and deploy the Microsoft Purview solution, configure data classification, sensitivity labeling, and data loss prevention policies, and develop automation workflows using PowerShell or Python to streamline governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements gathering workshops to understand business needs and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Design and define a Purview solution, including data classification policies, retention rules, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy, including establishing a data catalog and business glossary.
  • Provide training and support to end-users and data stewards to ensure successful adoption.
  • Create and maintain essential documentation like functional specifications and user guides.
  • Design and deploy the Microsoft Purview solution, integrating it with various data sources and platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse).
  • Configure data classification, sensitivity labeling, and data loss prevention (DLP) policies.
  • Develop automation workflows using PowerShell or Python to streamline governance processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A strong understanding of data governance principles (metadata management, data cataloging, lineage).
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in a consulting or service-oriented environment.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and other Azure services.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python for automation.
  • Knowledge of data security frameworks and zero-trust security models.
  • Experience with data integration, ETL pipelines, and data modeling.
