Job Title: Data Governance Lead

About the Role
  • Design and implement a company-wide framework aligned with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish roles, responsibilities, and ownership models across data domains.
  • Develop and embed policies, standards, and controls for quality, classification, access, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with teams to promote data accountability and literacy.
  • Work with technology partners to implement or optimise governance tooling.
  • Define and track governance KPIs and maturity levels, reporting regularly to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop data governance strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
  • Implement data quality, security, and compliance measures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address data risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of data governance policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to ensure effective data governance practices throughout the organisation.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or data quality leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK or CDMC.
  • Hands-on experience developing data policies, ownership models, and controls in a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Snowflake, Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
